Starting in October, a series of online training seminars will be launched as part of the LiBri project on how local communities, in cooperation with municipal public libraries, can most successfully implement social inclusion, support vulnerable groups of the population, as well as promote the visibility of their services and networking with partner organizations.
The first event in the series of seminars – the online seminar “LinkedIn for Librarians” – will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EET or Latvian time), and will discuss how libraries can use the professional communication and career development platform LinkedIn to inform about their activities, collaborate with partner organizations, and promote visibility.
Riccardo Ferrante, a library manager from Gennevillaires, France, has been invited as a guest speaker at the seminar, who will share best practices on how librarians can use the LinkedIn platform as effectively as possible. The working language of the webinar will be English, and listeners will be offered subtitles in European languages generated by the artificial intelligence Teams.
The following webinars are planned for the following topics:
- The most common barriers for third-country nationals: This webinar will discuss solutions to reduce language barriers, communication strategies and access to resources (scheduled for the end of November).
- Children, youth and families: In this webinar, we will focus on how to adapt and mobilize tools and resources to help libraries effectively support children, youth and families (scheduled for December).
- Vulnerable users: In this webinar, we will discuss strategies and approaches to support vulnerable populations, including older people, traumatized refugees and young people (scheduled for January).
We invite you to register for the first webinar on October 30th using the link: Library Bridges - Community of Practice or the QR code in the image.
