According to the by-law Culture Information Systems Centre (Centre) has the following functions:
- to manage, maintain and develop infrastructure and equipment for sharing information and communication technologies (hereinafter - information and communication technology resources) of the Ministry of Culture and institutions subordinate thereto (hereinafter – department of culture);
- manage, maintain, develop and develop information systems and electronic services of department of culture.
In order to ensure the performance of its functions, the Centre shall carry out the following tasks:
- implement the information and communication technology development policy of the department of culture and provide proposals regarding the financing of the State budget necessary for implementation of this policy;
- plan the financing necessary for the acquisition, development, development and maintenance of information and communication technology resources, information systems and electronic services of the department of culture and implement the acquisition, development, development and maintenance thereof;
- plan and implement information and communication technology security measures of the department of culture, including the protection of personal data;
- ensure the availability and continuity of the resources and information systems of the department of culture information and communication technologies;
- ensure the availability of electronic services provided by the department of culture to natural and legal persons and provide support to users of information and communication technology resources, information systems and electronic services of the department of culture;
- participate in the development of draft laws and regulations and preparation of policy planning documents in the field of the use of information and communication technology resources, information systems and electronic services of the department of culture, as well as provide opinions regarding draft laws and regulations developed by other institutions;
- implement information and communication technology projects financed by European Union funds and other financial instruments in accordance with their competence and ensure their sustainability;
- organize and conduct training, seminars and conferences in matters within the competence of the Centre, as well as participate in events organized by international organizations in matters within the competence of the Centre.
