With the aim of assisting in day-to-day work, the virtual Assistant (VA) or conversational bots coaches of public administration language technology platform Hugo.lv implemented integration with ChatGPT, the language technology-based global conversation boot embedded in the Microsoft Azure Open AI platform, which quickly gained the attention of internet users worldwide since its launch in late 2022 thanks to ChatGPT's ability to provide detailed answers on a wide range of topics across formats, styles, levels of detail and languages.
As virtual assistants developed on the platform Hugo.lv have become important support on public administration websites, both by making the work of institutions in customer service much more efficient and by offering citizens much faster and more convenient communication with public administration, it is crucial that this service is up-to-date and continuously developed in line with recent trends and advances in artificial intelligence and language technologies. Integration with ChatGPT in the Microsoft Azure Open AI platform is an important step in improving the capacity of Latvian public administration negotiation bots and expanding functions.
The functionality added to the VA trainers of the websites of Latvian public administration institutions will be a good assistant in the day-to-day work, as it will allow automated generation of intentions and answers with an additional possibility to correct, supplement or delete them in the VA training view. Currently, in the VA training environment, coaches are offered the opportunity to edit the response, including to paraphrase it. Automatic text generation allows the VA trainer to reformulate the response text by choosing one of four expressions, shorter, longer, more formal, or friendly. The new text offer can be revoked or canceled if none of the suggested options appear to be valid in the particular case. Furthermore, if another language is connected to the VA of the institution concerned, integration with ChatGPT will allow questions to be translated into that language.
